Tales of Games – gaming-related meeting

On 2 March, together with the Technical University of Wrocław and the „Polish Video Games” initiative we would like to invite you to a gaming-related meeting „Tales of Games”. Video game developers and researchers will meet with students to talk all day long about storylines in video games. Why are they so important, how to create vast virtual worlds and what makes us want to go back to some of them more than to others? We will hear about this during lectures, discussions and workshops in the Student Cultural Zone

The meeting will be opened with a workshop hosted by Rafał Polito, level designer of Techland. Together with audience he will create a game, proving that a good idea and passion is the basis for success in the production of video games.

The event will also host Radosław Smektała of Robot Gentleman, Gabriel Marczak and Krzysztof Danilewicz of Whitemoon and Piotr Sobolewski of The Knights of Unity – game developers who create independent mobile games and big-budget titles. Meeting with them will be an opportunity to discuss the direction in which Polish gamedev is going and to listen about the behind-the-scenes of working on MMORPGS (extremely popular games in which a large number of players can compete or cooperate with each other in a virtual world).

„Tales of Games” will also show us surprising, funny and sometimes ludicrous film adaptations of video games and, for the balance, will also remind about the most important fantasy and science fiction games of recent years.

– Our meeting at the Wrocław University of Technology is an opportunity to talk about the industry which won the hearts of millions of people around the World – stresses Adam Flamma form the „Polskie Gry Wideo” initiative. – You can come and listen about the work of people responsible for the titles which later end up on our computer and tablet screens.

„Tales of Games” is organised jointly by the Wrocław University of Technology and The Association of Pop Culture Researchers and Pop-cultural Education „Trickster”, as well as the members of the „Polskie Gry Wideo” initiative.

The meeting is open and free. More information in the Facebook event Tales od Games.
